Emergency Relief (ER)
Krurungal provides immediate support to community members in financial crisis. Support is comprised of food vouchers and referrals to other supports.
Children and Schooling Program (CASP)
Krurungal’s Duran Children and Schooling Program works closely with local state schools to keep young people in Grades 7 to 12 engaged at school. The program focusses on increasing school attendance and improving educational outcomes which lead to employment.
Partners in Recovery
Partners in Recovery is a community-based support service for people with severe and persistent mental illness, as well as their carers and families.
Krurungal’s Partners in Recovery services are transitioning to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) from 1 July 2019.
Alcohol and Other Drugs Services (AODS)
Krurungal delivers a community-based support service to people aged 12 years and older who need support and treatment for harmful substance use, and their families. This includes culturally appropriate, one-on-one support, referrals, education and case management.
Cultural Awareness Training
Krurungal is well-known for its cultural awareness training, where we provide education and awareness about the history and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People to a range of mainstream organisations.
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The NDIS provides lifelong support to people who have significant and permanent disabilities, including people with severe mental illness. The NDIS can be used by people aged between 0 and 65 years old who have a disability that affects the way they live their life every day.
Under the NDIS, Krurungal delivers the following services:
- Support Coordination;
- Support to access and maintain tenancy and accommodation;
- Assistance to access and maintain employment;
- Development of daily living and life skills; and
- Community engagement and participation.
