About Us

Who we are, what we value and represent.

Our History

Before European settlement, the Traditional People of the Gold Coast comprised six clan groups: Wangerriburra (Border Ranges), Guninin (Hinterland), Bullongin (Logan), Kombumerri (Nerang and Tallebudgera), Tal gin gin (Tweed to Tallebudgera) and Noonuckle (Southern tip of Stradbroke). The first four groups spoke Yugembah and the last two spoke Ngundawal. Many Traditional Custodians still live on their Traditional Lands of the Gold Coast today.

Krurungal has supported its local community in the Gold Coast area for nearly 30 years. We are registered with the Australian Government Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations (ORIC) as an Indigenous Incorporation delivering health and community services.

Our Vision

Krurungal’s Vision is for its community to have easy access to necessary community services and enjoy more opportunities, better outcomes, cultural connectedness and a positive sense of wellbeing.

Krurungal’s Mission is to deliver a culturally appropriate one-stop-shop to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in the Gold Coast and Tweed.
